Pebble Index 01 vs OASIS 1: Memory Ring or Keyboard Ring?

The Pebble Index 01 and OASIS 1 are both smart rings you talk into, but they do different jobs. The Pebble Index 01 is a $75 ring for catching a thought: hold the button, say it, and it becomes a note or reminder on your phone, with no charging and no subscription. The OASIS 1 is a $289 titanium ring that replaces your keyboard and mouse: whisper to dictate through Wispr Flow, then use its built-in trackpad to scroll and edit, on iPhone, Mac and Vision Pro. The Index 01 ships within 48 hours for most sizes; OASIS 1 ships Christmas 2026. Buy the Index 01 to remember things; buy OASIS 1 to type less.

What Is the Pebble Index 01?

The Index 01 comes from Core Devices, the company run by Pebble founder Eric Migicovsky. You click the button with your thumb and talk, and it records only while the button is pressed. Pebble says your speech is converted to text on-device, on your phone, where an on-device language model picks an action such as creating a note or adding a reminder. The app works offline, with optional cloud backup.

It runs on silver-oxide batteries, so "You never need to charge it." Pebble quotes roughly 12 to 15 hours of recording over up to two years, after which you replace the ring. It is water resistant to 1 meter and works with iPhone and Android. Our full guide is Pebble Index 01: Price, Specs and Who Should Buy It.

What Is OASIS 1?

OASIS 1 is a titanium smart ring that OASIS describes as offering "subvocal voice, touch, and motion control." In practice it is an input device. You whisper to dictate, with Wispr Flow as its featured dictation integration, and use the ring's trackpad, which combines capacitive touch and optical tracking, for "continuous scroll, volume, pause & play, navigation and other shortcuts." A precision haptic motor gives feedback. It works with iPhone, Mac and Apple Vision Pro, and controls Spotify and Apple Music.

OASIS lists 16 hours on a single charge. It is $289 with free shipping, on pre-order, and ships Christmas 2026. It has not announced a subscription.

Capture vs Control

This is the whole decision. The Index 01 is built so a passing idea does not get lost: one press, one sentence, and it lands in your notes or reminders. It does not move a cursor or type into other apps.

OASIS 1 is built for people who spend the day at a computer and want to type less. Dictating an email, then scrolling to fix a word with the same finger, is its core use. It does not pitch itself as a notes or memory product.

How Much Do They Cost?

Pebble Index 01: $75 at the current pre-order price, rising to $99 later, with no paid subscription. Plan to replace the ring when the sealed battery runs out.

OASIS 1: $289 with free shipping. OASIS has not announced a subscription for the ring. If you use it with Wispr Flow, check Wispr Flow's own plans.

Which Should You Choose?

Choose the Pebble Index 01 if you want a cheap, simple way to catch thoughts and reminders, on iPhone or Android, with no charging and a ring you can have this week.

Choose OASIS 1 if you work on a Mac or iPhone all day, already like dictation, and want a ring that can dictate, scroll and control media, and you can wait until Christmas.

Where Legend Fits

Both rings work when you decide to speak into them. Legend One is built for the conversations you would not think to capture. It is a voice-first AI memory pendant made for people with ADHD, worn at chest height and always on with no button to press, with a Halo light when it is active. It is not a medical device and does not treat ADHD. Legend turns your conversations into text, with no audio to play back and none kept in your account, and gives you daily summaries and auto-generated to-dos in the Legend App. Legend still captures audio to create the transcript, so recording and consent laws may apply where you live. It is $499 USD including the first year of membership, with free worldwide shipping. Orders ship within 30 days, then arrive in about 14 business days. See how it works.

The Takeaway

The Pebble Index 01 is a $75 memory ring: press, speak, and the thought is saved, with no charging and no subscription. OASIS 1 is a $289 titanium input ring that dictates through Wispr Flow and adds a trackpad, shipping Christmas 2026. They share a finger, not a job. Pick the one that matches what you want your voice to do.
