What Does Luna Do?

Moonshot calls Luna "the necklace that speaks up before you ask." It hears your conversations through two microphones and passes them to Samantha, Moonshot's AI app, which pulls out reminders and to-dos and brings them to you at the right moment. Moonshot's own example: "Order Mom's peonies today to make Friday."

Luna has no speaker or screen. When Samantha has something for you, the pendant's stone face glows warm white, it gives "a buzz only you feel", and the message appears on your phone. Samantha can also read your Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive, and Moonshot says it only sends, replies or creates something after you say yes.

How Does It Listen?

Luna listens through the day, with no button to start a recording. To stop it, you tap the pendant twice and its microphones turn off.

Moonshot's privacy policy explains what happens to what it hears. Audio is streamed through Moonshot's server to ElevenLabs, which turns speech into text, and Moonshot says neither its server nor your phone saves that audio. Its server does keep "a word-for-word transcript of your day" until you delete it, and deleting your account erases everything Samantha keeps. Moonshot says Samantha's replies and memories run on Anthropic's Claude, with OpenAI and Google Gemini as fallbacks, and that it "sells nothing about you, to anyone."

How Much Does Luna Cost?

You can reserve Luna for $1 today, refundable any day by replying to your receipt. When the Kickstarter launches in November 2026, the first 300 reservations get Luna for $399, $100 off its $499 price, and Moonshot says you are only charged if the campaign is funded. The first 300 also get a free "starlight" charging box, 6 months of Samantha and a numbered "First Light" engraving on the back.

After that, Samantha's core features, including listening, memory, recall and light tasks with your calendar, Gmail and Drive, stay free. Moonshot says $20 a month is for heavy use. As with any Kickstarter, the price and dates are plans until the product ships.

What Is Not Published Yet

Moonshot has not published battery life, water resistance or a return policy and warranty for the finished device. Its earlier product, an iPhone app that also listened through the day, has been retired.

Who Is It For?

Moonshot says it asked more than 50 owners of AI wearables what was still missing before designing Luna. The answer it built around is a device that does not just record, but tells you what to do next, without making you open an app. If you want an always-listening assistant that nudges you, and you are happy to back a Kickstarter, Luna is one to watch.

Where Legend Fits

Legend One is also a pendant that stays on all day, and you can order it now. It is a voice-first AI memory pendant made for people with ADHD, worn at chest height and on all day, with a Halo light when it is active. It is not a medical device and does not treat ADHD. Legend turns your conversations into text, with no audio to play back and none kept in your account, and gives you daily summaries and auto-generated to-dos in the Legend App. Legend still captures audio to create the transcript, so recording and consent laws may apply where you live. It is $499 USD including the first year of membership, with free worldwide shipping. Orders ship within 30 days, then arrive in about 14 business days. See how it works.
