What Is Aina? The $499 AI Wearable Controller, Explained

Aina is an AI wearable controller from Aina Computers that it says "reads your intent" to control meetings, phone apps, your Mac and AI agents. It launches at $499, and refundable reservations lock in $349 or $399, with shipping in December 2026 or January 2027. Aina has not yet shown the final device or confirmed what kind of wearable it is.

What Does Aina Do?

Aina pitches itself as "a new way to control AI agents." It says it "understands what you say and the context of what you're doing," with examples like booking an Uber to your next meeting once you approve it, acting as a smart home remote, and controlling music and meetings. TechCrunch quoted its founder describing an "action-oriented device that will use the context to help you control and trigger workflows," rather than a passive recorder.

Who Makes Aina?

Aina Computers works between San Francisco and Bangalore and was previously known as Project Mirage. Its first product, Dune, is a context-aware keypad for the Mac. TechCrunch reported a $5.5 million seed round in July 2026.

How Much Does Aina Cost?

Aina launches at $499. Reserving now locks in a lower price: Gold Access is a $20 deposit and $349 in total, with the remaining $329 paid at launch; Silver Access is a $10 deposit and $399. Aina says the pledge is "fully refundable, no questions asked." It has not published a subscription.

When Does Aina Ship?

Gold reservations list express shipping in December 2026, and Silver lists normal shipping in January 2027. A private pilot is already running.

What Aina Has Not Published

• What the device looks like. Its site calls it a wearable but does not confirm the form.
• How it hears you, and whether audio is processed on the device or in the cloud.
• Battery life and specs.
• Android support. The Gold tier is iOS and Mac only.

Is Aina a Memory Device?

No. Aina is built to act on what you ask, not to capture the conversations around you. We compared it with another agent device in Aina vs Button.

Where Legend Fits

Aina acts on what you ask. Legend One remembers what you would otherwise forget. Legend One is a voice-first AI memory pendant made for people with ADHD, worn at chest height and always on with no button to press, with a Halo light when it is active. It is not a medical device and does not treat ADHD. Legend turns your conversations into text, with no audio to play back and none kept in your account, and gives you daily summaries and auto-generated to-dos in the Legend App. Legend still captures audio to create the transcript, so recording and consent laws may apply where you live. It is $499 USD including the first year of membership, with free worldwide shipping. Orders ship within 30 days, then arrive in about 14 business days. See how it works.

The Takeaway

Aina is a $499 AI wearable controller for agents, apps and your Mac, with refundable reservations from $349 and shipping in December 2026 or January 2027. It has not shown the device yet, so the deposit buys a place in line rather than a known product. Check the final design and any subscription before you pay the balance.
